Back in the 90s my husband decided that a pair of glasses with thick, black Buddy Holly frames would be his signature look. He wore them for a couple of years and that’s how people knew him. He was the kid with the Buddy Holly glasses. Then he got contacts and the glasses got put in a drawer along with his flannels and Nirvana t-shirts.
Every once in a while, our daughters would find the glasses and wear them around the house, wobbling around like tiny drunks because they couldn’t see through the thick lenses.
Its been years since either one of them have done that, and years since I’ve seen those glasses. Then, I was sorting through some random photos the other day and I came across these:
There were those glasses and there were my little girls. I was so happy and sad at the same time, I almost cried.
I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when my oldest daughter chose a similar set of frames for her first pair of glasses.
Guess some things never go out of style.
The girls are lucky to have such cool cats as parents!

Well, “cool” might be a bit of overstatement 🙂
